●Universal fit
Hanamori processing is done by Japanese craftsmen.
The nose pads are different in height compared to traditional models, so they do not slip off when worn and can be worn in the correct position for all ethicities. This solves problems such as eyelashes hitting or lenses hitting cheeks.
●Bio Acetate
In the eyewear industry, it is said that waste accounts for 70-80% of the total weight of materials involved in the production process. We had a hard time finding a material that is suitable for sunglasses and can minimize the negative impact on the earth. Cotton, which is mainly used for acetate, was quickly excluded as a material for WAITING FOR THE SUN because it uses a lot of water to grow.
WAITING FOR THE SUN's bio acetate is recyclable. We collect waste from machining and reuse some of it in the manufacturing process of the material. Our bio acetate is made from wood fiber (wood). Well-managed and well-grown forests contribute to reducing greenhouse gases. Growing trees release more oxygen and absorb more CO2 than aging trees.
Our plastic frames are 100% biodegradable plastic. This bioacetate has been verified and certified (in accordance with ISO14855) by OWS (Organic Waste Systems), an internationally recognized independent laboratory specializing in biodegradability testing.
